The United States Department of Education was in the news last week as President Donald Trump works to fulfil another campaign promise to reduce its size and return public education to states. My opinion, and as studies indicated most American citizens, is this is good news since the federal department has been overtaken by the political Washington D.C. machine and has long been catering to special interest groups like teacher unions.
