The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) is updating its Freedom Framework social studies standards to reflect President Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. Following a recommendation from Louisiana State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley, the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) approved the change today.
