The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal has been forced to implement early deadlines for next week’s edition, due to the Mardi Gras state holiday.
“All advertisements, stories, photographs, obituaries, community events, etc. must be in our office by 4 p.m., Friday, February 28, to be in the March 5 issue,” Editor Craig Franklin reported. “All public notices and other legal publications still have their regular deadline of Thursday, at 4 p.m.”
The early deadlines were established due to the printing press where the newspaper is printed being closed on Monday, March 3, due to Mardi Gras.
“We normally print every Monday afternoon but because the press is closed that day due to Mardi Gras, we must print our newspaper Friday,” Franklin continued. “We hope that everyone will note the early deadlines so we don’t miss anything from getting in the paper.”
