Larry Steve Wofford, 74, of Jena, LA, passed from this life into the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Revs. Rickey Gresham and Carl Gulde officiating.
Interment followed in the Columbia Hill Cemetery, Columbia, LA, under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home, Jena, LA.
Pallbearers were Robbie McMillian, Mickey Gresham, Tillman Corley, Donald Simmons, James Robbins and John Rodney Campbell.
He was born July 24, 1950, in McComb, MS, to John Steve Wofford Jr. and Lula Belle Granger Wofford.
Larry grew up in Natchez where he met and married Gloria Jean Mills Wofford, both in agreement each was the love of their lives, spending 54 wonderful years of marriage.
Larry was retired from the United States Army and he also served an overseas tour of duty in Desert Storm. He was a devoted family man, dedicating his free time to his family with memories becoming sweeter each day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Jack Wofford; and a son-in-law, John Wyles.
Those left to cherish his memory include his family, Gloria Jean Mills Wofford, Lori Wyles, Keith Childress, Steve Wofford, Sabrina Wofford, Dianne Barker and Debbie Tompkins, Morris Tompkins, Chase Wyles, Nathan Wofford, Gabby Hellums, and Gannon Hellums, Richard Michelli and David T. Bradford.
