Falling Into Fall
I have been contemplating the brief Louisiana fall season and all its unique traits – the food, the fun and the memories that are near and dear – the fall frolics that no other season can match. I am revived by the cooler temperatures and the endless kitchen possibilities. The soups, chilis and gumbos move up on the menu, and I am feeling sorry for people who have never picked and cooked a fresh batch of mustard greens from the garden to the table. The most delicious aromas fill the entirety of the house and lead the noses of hungry visitors from the front door to the stove top.
