The LaSalle Tigers offense showed up again this week and hung a “Sixty” spot on the Lakeview Gators during week six of the regular season in Olla.
This was not the welcome the Gators were expecting for the opening of District 3-1A play but it was a delight to the Tigers Nation as they watched this young team explode on offense scoring at will during the first half.
The Tigers were clicking on all cylinders this night, as Tuff Street and Jessey Stowe would lead the Tiger offense on the ground and Alex Richmond would grab one touchdown through the air. The Tigers would get all the work done in the first half that would be needed to have a running clock in the second half.
Street had a tremendous night leading all Tigers with 15 carries for 185 yards and five touchdowns. The junior quarterback had his way powering and dissecting the Gator defense on his feet and in the air.
Jessey Stowe also got into the offensive act, rushing for 107 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown. Alex Richmond had one catch for 24 yards, which was another Tigers touchdown.
In total, the Tigers offense scored 60 points with seven touchdowns and had a grand total of 349 yards.
The Tiger defense would be led by Cutler Ganey with two sacks on the night. Daniel Stowe and Canaan Stowe would each add a sack. Tuff Street would recover a fumble and return it 40 yards for a defensive score. Stephen Fowler would lead all tacklers with seven. The Tiger defense would go on for the rest of the night and stuff the Gator offense.
LaSalle will travel to Alexandria this coming Thursday to take on the Northwood Gators to continue District 3-1A play. Northwood is coming off a loss at Montgomery. The Tigers are 3-3 overall and 1-0 in District play. LaSalle is also sitting at #23 in the state power point rankings. This is expected to be another great game for the Tigers as Northwood always plays LaSalle tough.
If you can’t make it to the game, make sure you tune in to Sandlot Sports Network as Jason and Eli Peppers will bring all the play-by-play action of the Tigers.
When you see these players and coaches make sure to tell them how proud you are of the job they are doing, as they are working hard to make the town and school proud. Hope to see you at the games.
