LaSalle Parish Sheriff Lane Windham has issued a warning to hunters on Catahoula Lake reminding them of changes in the lake’s boundaries and the possibility of trespassing charges should violations occur. “As was noted by former Sheriff Scott Franklin when this issue first arose last year, I remind everyone that we had nothing to do with the changes involving Catahoula Lake and we as law enforcement are not taking any sides on the issue, other than our responsibility to enforce the laws that we are sworn to uphold,” Sheriff Windham said. “But we have already received complaints from landowners of people hunting on their property, or their lawfully owned section of Catahoula Lake, and we will take action should we be called upon to do so.”
