Thanks to Brian Allison and the folks at the LaSalle Museum Association for posting the pictures of the Town of Tullos in last week’s Times. This week, Rip Cannaday shares a song he wrote about this town, along with some of his childhood memories. (TCT) Rip: Some time ago I wrote a song about “My Old Home Town”. It tells about Tullos as I remember it in the late 1930s. My parents, moved to Tullos in 1936, the year before I was born. The oil boom was coming to an end. There were a lot of wells that still had the wooden derricks. If they drilled a new well, the derricks were made of wood. After that, World War II started and all the steel went to fight the war and save America.
