Six LaSalle Parish high school softball players were recently selected to the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association All-State Team.
Founded in 1990, the LSCA promotes softball, aids coaches and honor high school softball athletes throughout the state.
For the 2024 LSCA All-State Team, both of the parish’s high school starting pitchers were selected for the distinguished.
Jena Lady Giants’ sophomore pitcher Kiette Cooper was selected to the LSCA All-State Class 3A Team and LaSalle Lady Tigers’ junior pitcher Rheese Martin was selected to the LSCA All-State Class 1A Team.
Also joining the pitchers on their respective teams were: LSCA All-State Class 3A Team: senior catcher Cydney Kate Parker and sophomore shortstop Callie Decker.
LSCA All-State Class 1A Team: senior outfielder Makenzie Nino and junior catcher Allie Murphrey.
The Louisiana Softball Coaches Association is very involved in high school softball, including coordinating state coaches, hosting a variety of events and working closely with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association to make recommendations on issues and rules that enhance the game of softball for all athletes in the season, playoffs and state tournament.
