He was born on September 3, 1938 in Richland Parish to the union of his parents, Will Etier and Emma Roberts Etier.
He was an active member of Start Baptist Church, Start, Louisiana. After high school, Carey enlisted in the Army and served our country in Germany on an Armored Tank Brigade Combat Team. After returning home he worked for Columbian Chemical of Monroe until the company transferred to Marietta, GA and he went with them. He worked there for a total of 37 years, retiring in 2003. He will be remembered for his quiet and gentle personality.
