During the last week of February, I was sitting outside in my backyard in a short sleeve t-shirt, skirt, and flip flops enjoying the balmy unseasonal eighty-something degree weather when a mosquito bit me on the back of my leg. I instinctively gave that baby a good smack and sent it on to mosquito heaven, then realized it was much too early for Louisiana mosquito season.
