When Melvin and Coral Worthington’s only child, Ginger, unexpectedly passed away in August of 2017, Coral began to search for a meaningful and lasting way to honor her daughter’s life and memory. The idea came to her to create a scholarship for Jena High School seniors in Ginger’s name. Ginger had a college PhD and had planned her future around being an instructor at the university level. She was enjoying many career and personal successes when she unexpectedly passed away.
