Mrs. Virginia Mitchell well remembers the first night she and her late husband, Mr. Max, opened the doors for business at the Jena Dairy Queen Burger Barn. The year was 1964 and the grand opening soon found the small business staff consisting of Mrs. Virgina, Mr. Max, their church pastor and a few others swamped with customers eager to try the fare being offered.
