There was a certain sting about the way the 2023 softball season ended. The Lady Tiger softball team had been to the state championship game the last five years in Class 1A softball, but a second-round loss would keep them from playing in their home away from home. The Lady Tigers had it all in the combination of speed, athleticism and raw power, but on this day the best team did not win. The quarterfinal loss last season against Vinton at home was a huge blow to the Lady Tiger softball team as these girls had never experienced a season not ending in Sulphur, Louisiana, at the Fast Pitch 56. Vinton showed up to Olla and made the necessary plays to take down the #1 seeded Lady Tigers.
