On Saturday, November 18, the Centennial Cultural Center hosted their annual Art, Jazz and Jambalaya event in downtown Olla.
The event included several exhibits and displays by local artists and artists across the state of Louisiana. Those in attendance were able to enjoy live music and good food while viewing the displays.
Several university art students were able to display their works at the event, and some even sold pieces to LaSalle Parish residents. Students from Grambling State University, Louisiana Christian University, LSU of Alexandria, Northwestern State University and the University of Louisiana at Monroe were some of those involved.
There were also works provided by Olla natives, artists with the Natchitoches Art Guild and a display of works by students in the special education program at Jena High School.
Music was provided by the Gary Cathey Band from Alexandria, LA, with members Gary Cathey (Lead Guitar, Vocal), Joe Gendusa (Drums, Vocal) and Tommy Delrie (Bass, Vocal).
Entergy sponsored this year’s event, making it free to all attendees.
