Fentanyl Leading Killer in Opioid Epidemic
The opioid epidemic has been an ongoing issue. According to the Centers for Disease Control it all started with prescription opioids such as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and Methadone. From there, Heroin took off and caused many overdoses due to the potency of it. After heroin, Fentanyl is now the leading killer in this ongoing epidemic. From 1999-2019, almost 500,000 people have died from an opioid related overdose.
