Carol May Mc-Dougald, 87, of Olla, passed from this life March 7, 2023, at her residence with her husband by her side.
Carol Marsha May McDougald was born October 27, 1935 in Clarks, to the union of her parents, Herbert May and Odelle Ferguson May.
Carol was a strong, loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and teacher and took pride in all she accomplished. She graduated LaSalle High School, after that she attended and graduated from both ULM and Northwestern State University. Carol was a Home Economics Teacher at LaSalle High School for twenty-nine years and enjoyed teaching young women to be independent. She served on the library board for a number of years. Before her health started declining, she was very active. Carol attended Olla First Baptist Church, loved cooking and hosting their family reunions, planting flowers and just being outside working in the yard. She traveled the world seeing all but two states. They would load up in their motor home and just go. Carol loved her family, but her pride and joy was her granddaughter, Sara. She loved and spoiled her all she could.
