Cpl. Rayford Bell, son of Mrs. Laura Bell of Jena, with the famed 82nd Airborne Division, recently voluntarily demonstrated a new type of parachute before high officers of the 3rd Army Test Section of Fort Bragg, N.C. Cpl. Bell tested the new XT-11 jumping from a C-119 “Flying Boxcar” at an altitude of some 2,000 feet. He completed rugged Ranger Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, in September of this year.
