Urania officials discuss erosion issue at wells
The Town of Urania Council’s regular meeting last week centered on discussion about erosion issues at the town’s waterwells. Council member Bill Brown voiced concerns about how when the wells are flushed the flushed water runoff is eroding the soil around the wells. He recommended that the Council consider creating a barrier between the soil and water runoff using rock riprap, which he said would protect the soil from erosion due to the runoff. However, he added that riprap is fairly expensive, so they might find an alternative material.
