On a drive in the country a few years ago, my cousin, the late Glen Dale McKeithen, and I visited the site of an old dipping vat. He told me that the vats were built so that cattle owners could bring their animals to be dipped to get rid of ticks. Recent reading has added to my knowledge of these vats.
