The Jena Junior High Eighth Grade Louisiana History class celebrated their Eighth Annual Cajun Food Day on March 9. Due to COVID restrictions last year, the class was unable to participate. As always, there was plenty of food and fun for all the students. Some of the Louisiana dishes students enjoyed this year were Shrimp Etouffee, Gumbo, King Cake, Pecan Pie, Pralines, Shrimp and Crawfish Dressing, Jambalaya, Strawberry desserts, Beignets, Seafood Macaroni, Crawfish Nachos, Indian Tacos, Venison, Boudain and more. The event is always a fun day for the students and teachers and a great opportunity to experience a small part of Louisiana’s culture.
