LaSalle Parish experienced its greatest increase in COVID-19 cases recently as the highly infectious omicron variant worked its way rapidly through all sectors of the parish. While symptoms from the omicron variant are reportedly milder than last summer’s Delta variant, doctors and scientists across the nation reported it is much more contagious than its Delta predecessor.
