Area smoke from Kisatchie
Residents of LaSalle Parish noticed the entire parish was inundated with smoke last Thursday, January 13, causing many to be concerned that a large fire was taking place somewhere in the parish. It was later learned that the USDA was performing a controlled burn of some 3,000 acres of underbrush in the Kisatchie National Forest in Grant Parish and smoke from that burn was blown into LaSalle. Smoke from the burn was reportedly experienced into Catahoula Parish and beyond.
