70 Years Ago July 12, 1951 A huge LaSalle Parish Loblolly Pine that towered 182 feet from its base in a deep hollow about halfway between Tullos and Urania, on the East side of Castor Creek, has at last been hewn down after from 260-290 years of life. The tree was allegedly the tallest Loblolly in the world.
