“In 2021, we will be modifying our outreach, to look for individuals, churches, and businesses to sponsor specific children. This will help us to know the need and better resource each child,” Harris said.
We can make a difference in one weekend.
How to sponsor a child?
1. Throughout the summer, ask your church or business to adopt a student for less than $100 each.
2. Inform the Alliance by August 1st, how many children your organization will adopt
3. On Friday, August 13th we will email you a list of anonymous students, which will include their sizes and the basic supplies needed for their grade. This will include 1 pair of sneakers, 1 shirt, and 1 pair of pants. Purchase these over the weekend.
4. Then, return your items in a bag/box, labeled with your student’s number to the School Board Media Center by Tuesday, August 17th 11am. Families will pick up their supplies between 1-4pm that afternoon before school starts the following day.
*Each student will be given a free backpack from the Ministerial Alliance and a list of local churches & businesses who have sponsored this effort.
