Mary Eugenia B. Jones

Mary Eugenia Best Jones, 74, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Urania, passed from this life on Monday, March 11, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital at the Woodlands, Texas. She was born July 29, 1938 in Tallulah to the union of her parents, Clarence Best and Viola Rushing Best. Services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 15, from the sanctuary of St. Williams Catholic Church in Olla with Father Christian Obama conducting the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in the Good Hope Cemetery near Kelly under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Roland Jones. Survivors include two sons, Roland Dennis Jones and wife Debra of Montgomery, TX, and Obie Jones of Cheneyville; her grandchildren who was the light of her life, Jennifer Crowley and husband Mark, and their son, Isaiah Crowley, and Allison Merchant and husband Sameer.
