The Jena Giants are 18 games into this season and the real reason they work so hard is starting this week. Jena starts their 3-3A district games this week hosting the Vidalia Vikings at Eddie Justiss Memorial Field. The Giants thus far have an overall record of 6-12. Jena has wins over Caldwell, Forest, Ouachita, Westminster Christian, St. Mary’s of Natchitoches, and LaSalle. Jena is carrying a .266 team batting average and a .396 on base percentage for pre district games. In 340 plate the Giants have 31 walks and 28 hit by pitch.
