Winners of the annual essay contest sponsored by the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International were recognized during the regular March meeting of the LaSalle Parish School Board held Monday night of last week. Elementary Supervisor and chapter member Kathryn Tyler, left, recognized the essay winners, shown from left to right: Kathryn Wilson, first place, seventh grade; Alyssa McGuffee, first place, eighth grade; and Colin McCartney, grand prize winner. Colin and Kathryn attend Nebo Elementary School and Alyssa attends Jena Junior High School.
