Robert Earl Hosea, Sr.

Robert Earl Hosea, Sr., 68, of Olla, passed from this life on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born December 16, 1944 in Delhi to the union of his parents, Lonnie Cole Hosea and Sadie Belle Cobb Hosea. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the First Baptist Church in Olla. He was employed by Loe Oil Company of Tullos. Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday,  March 4, from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Olla with Rev. Johnnie Phillips officiating. Interment followed at 2 p.m., Monday, in the Newton Cemetery in Delhi under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Shelton Hosea and Clyde Hosea. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Summerall Hosea of Olla; one son, Robert Earl “Robbie” Hosea, Jr. and wife Tina of Olla; one daughter, Janet Hosea Byrd and husband Steve of Clinton, MS; three brothers, Sonny Hosea of Delhi, Howard Hosea of Monroe, and Thomas Hosea of Clarksville, MS; three sisters, Lorraine House of Ozark, MO, Shirley Reece of Meridian, MS, and Sharon Dandy of Bernice; eight grandchildren, Brandon Hosea, Jeremy Hosea, Kinley Hosea, Kyle Decker, Kaylin Decker, Austin Byrd, Elizabeth Byrd, and Candace Smith; and two great grandchildren, Bailey Smith and Peyton Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Sonny Hosea, Howard Hosea, Thomas Hosea, and Shelby Loe, Sr.
